If you love the outdoors, sports,
caravans, mobile homes, or homes on wheels then mark your calendars for the
13th to the 15th of May and head to Sariyer, Istanbul. Dogada Yasam Okulu will
be hosting the Istanbul Karavan festival in Kilyos.
Dogada Yasam Okulu which means the school
for living in nature opened its gates in 2018. Besides hosting nature retreats,
the center often hosts corporate and adult camps, parents and children's
camping retreats, and summer and winter camps for children.
This center which goes with the slogan
“From 7 to 70” has received over 27.000 guests and is facilitated by a 35-member
group who are trained and certified in outdoor activities and safety, in
Turkey’s Search and Rescue Association and volunteered with AKUT. Their aim is to
impact the young generation with lessons such as teamwork, vital skills, and
confidence.
Besides hosting several events, this
recreation center also has long-term land rental options for mobile and tiny
homes. The rental areas range from 120m2 and have close proximity to the city.
For those who desire this minimalist lifestyle but do not own caravans yet,
pitched tents and rental caravans are part of the services offered at this
seaside resort located where the forest meets the shore of the Black Sea.
The 40 hectares of camping grounds have
its own private beach and a parking area referred to as the caravan Marina has
parking for up to 45 trailers.
Activities to expect this weekend include
outdoor life-saving techniques, ziplining, and daytime and evening hikes.
Workshops, talks, and sporting activities will also take place simultaneously.
Attend this festival and benefit from a coffee 101 seminar by Huseyin Kara of
Tiny Truckhouses. A music concert will also be part of the 3-day event.
